Program Length: 4-5 years

Location: Waterloo, ON

Admissions Req: Applicants for this education degree must have a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum number of six completed Grade 12 U or M courses, including required courses. Grade 12 U or M courses must be approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Required: Pre-Calculus 12, English Studies 12 and one of the following: AP Calculus or Calculus 12.

Highlight: So you simply love Math plus you’re pretty amazing amazing at it and want to… teach….wait? what? Well Waterloo, a place that is pretty well-known (ok, world renowned) for math stuff offers the opportunity for students to specialize in Math for the purpose of Teaching!….say what??? Yep,  Math and Teaching:  so practical it’s crazy, right? Get 8 months of teaching experience PLUS paid experience (in Canada or abroad!) if you enroll in the Co-op version of the program. Definitely not for the faint of heart, though… to be considered applicants must enter and submit results from one or both of the following contests: the Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest or the Euclid Math Contest… C’mon, you do this stuff for fun! Did I mention that you can complete the 4 school term practicum to earn your BEd concurrently? and so start teaching the September after you graduate?!
