Highlight: A specialization within the Mechanical Engineering department, Mechatronics is a combination of mechanical engineering along with robotics and instrumentation. The Professional Experience Year (PEY) is an undergraduate paid internship program offering 12-16 month paid internships in their areas of interest where they can apply their knowledge in a project-based professional environment.
In addition, both The Engineering 4 the World Program (e4tw) and Summer Research Abroad programs provide summer opportunities for students to work on a real-life projects with industry clients. There is also the Capstone Design Project – a summative undergraduate experience whereby student teams meet specific client needs through a creative, iterative, and open-ended design process. Beyond all of this, the school has its own start-up incubator and car racing team!
