Admissions Requirements:
Students from any high school in the Greater St. Louis area (Missouri and Illinois) may apply to Summer Focus when they are in the 11th grade (i.e. their junior year).

Highlight:
Dive into the world of scientific research with the Washington University Young Scientist Program! This free summer research program offers high school juniors a chance to work on real scientific projects, mentored by leading researchers at Washington University School of Medicine. Over eight weeks, students engage in intensive research, attend workshops and courses, and gain exposure to various fields such as genetics, neuroscience, immunology, and biochemistry. The summer research program also offers a stipend of $4000 to support the participants. Although this is only open to students from the Greater St. Louis area (Missouri and Illinois), this summer research program is an unparalleled opportunity to explore scientific careers, develop research skills, and be part of groundbreaking studies.
