Program Length: Internship is between 2 to 6 months, starting anytime between April 15 – June 15 2021.
Location: Val Caron (near Sudbury), Ontario, P3N 1R3
Admissions Req: Must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for this Wildlife Rehabilitation Internship with proof of vaccination for tetanus and rabies.
Highlight: Just healed, a small green turtle slowly crawls into the lake that was once its home. A few months prior, it was hit by a boat propeller and brought in to The Turtle Pond Wildlife Center to be treated. It received medication to manage pain and professional veterinary care and was soon on its way back home! If you are known to be flexible, motivated, and calm in demanding environments, then you are perfect for their Wildlife Rehabilitation Internship! From preparing species specific diets to feeding animals and assisting in rescues, you can care for turtles (and possibly some other animals in special circumstances as well) during this wildlife rehabilitation internship. Interns will work 5-day weeks for 40-50 hours per week in morning, evening or split shifts that include weekdays, weekends and holidays. You also get to mentor new volunteers during this wildlife rehabilitation internship! As someone once said, “Saving one animal won’t change the world, but for that one animal, their world will change forever.” So submit a resume and cover letter to turtlepondwc@gmail.com today to apply for the chance to help change a turtle’s life this summer!
