SUMMER STEM PROGRAM (JACKSON LAB)

JACKSON LAB RESEARCH PROGRAM

Program Length: June 6 – August 13 (~ 10 weeks)

Location: Bar Harbor, ME & Farmington, CT

Admissions Req: To participate in the mentored research program at Bar Harbor, ME, students must have completed grade 12 by 2021, be at least 18 years old, and be a US citizen/permanent resident.

To participate in the mentored research program at Farmington, CT, students must be a full-time undergrad student, have greater than one semester remaining before graduation, and be a US citizen/permanent resident. 

Highlight: Have you wanted to take part in a mentored research program but feel like you don’t have enough experience? Maybe you don’t have the resources and equipment? Now, you can pursue this interest and connect with students with the same passions as you while receiving a $6000 stipend in The Jackson Laboratory Summer Student Program! With the help of experienced faculty in this mentored research program, you will always have a path to follow and your questions can always be answered. Additionally, in this mentored research program, you will board for about 10 weeks near one of the two Jackson laboratory locations, Bar Harbor and Farmington. During this time, you will choose a topic within a research area, from science writing to computational biology to cancer research, to explore and conduct real trials and experiments. At the end of the mentored research program you will present your findings to scientists in the field and receive constructive feedback and gain professional growth.
