Highlight: Are you interested in engineering and being creative? Well then we have the perfect competitions for you! The Rube Goldberg Contests are based on the work of Rube Goldberg who is an American cartoonist, author, and engineer. He was best known for his popular cartoons depicting complicated gadgets performing simple tasks in indirect, convoluted ways. This contest offers three different competitions for individuals to showcase their creativity and engineering skills: the Machine Contest, the Minecraft Challenge, and the Cartoon Contest. These creative engineering contests vary in age requirements and grade levels, with the Machine Contest being open to all ages and the Minecraft Challenge being open to grades 3-12. The Cartoon Contest has two categories, 16 and under and 17 and over. You can apply to these creative engineering contests here for the Machine contest and here for the Cartoon contest. The application deadlines for these creative engineering contests vary but they are around early to late March and April. Note that submissions for these creative engineering contests are all remote and online all you need to do is upload images/links to your projects into your application. Winners of these creative engineering contests can receive Amazon gift cards, certificates, and are showcased on social media.
