NORTHWEST YOUTH CORPS

Program Length: 4-5 weeks. Many sessions from April through October

Location: Washington, Idaho, Oregon
Local programs take place communities OR and WA
Camping Sessions take place in Lake Wenatchee, WA, Boise, ID
Backcountry Leadership Programs take place in Idaho’s Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness and Washington’s Glacier Peak Wilderness

Admissions Req:
 Local programs are for students 15-19 from Oregon and Washington.
Camping Sessions are open to students from anywhere in the US.
Backcountry Leadership sessions are open to students with previous NYC experience (and recommendations).
All participating students just need to have their own transportation to get there!

Highlight: If you are a fan of the big outdoors, then one of the Northwest Youth Corps Programs may be for you! Develop leadership and team skills while building hiking trails, protecting endangered species, and restoring wildlife habitats. You will even learn how to swing a tool, bake in a Dutch Oven, and of course, pitch a tent, build a campfire, and load a backpack. Get support and  guidance from experienced field staff in this camping program! Camp in the field for the entirety of your Fall or Spring/Summer session in this camping program. Depending on the program you choose, stay in one area or travel each week to a new project. There are many different sessions and programs so you can pick the time period and location type of program that works best for you! Make new friends, gain useful skills like pitching a tent, and explore the Northwest in this camping program! For only $50-225 participate in this one of a kind camping program and become one with nature. AND… did we mention? You’re also able to make $300 a week for your hard work! and can even earn bonuses, too! If being out in the wilderness isn’t your style, Northwest Youth Corps offers community programs that do not include camping.
