training: NYO-USA is in residence at Purchase College, SUNY. Located 30 miles north of New York City on 550 scenic acres in Westchester County
tour: tours to a different part of the world each year, following a kick-off concert at Carnegie Hall

Admissions Requirement:
• Musicians in the USA between the ages of 16 to 19

Are you looking for a prestigious opportunity that will help you further your skills while giving you unforgettable experiences? Well, look no further! Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute provides 16 to 19 year olds across the United States the opportunity to form the National Youth Orchestra. This free program enables students to get orchestra training from professionals. This program is held at SUNY Purchase College, NYC, from late July to mid August. Students are provided residence here during their month-long stay. And, there’s more! Not only will you get to be a part of this prestigious orchestra, but you will go on a tour to see the great music capitals of the world. Check out previous touring locations of this 100 player orchestra. And, what’s better is that everything is free of charge! If you are interested in this summer orchestra program, make sure to apply for a small fee of $30. The application portal opens in September, so make sure to mark your calendar! In addition to this program, WMI offers another program: one for underrepresented classical youth instrumentalists and another ensemble program for 16-19 year olds dedicated to jazz.
