Highlight: Does talking about genes sound exciting to you? Well the miRcore science Summer camp won’t disappoint you! This science summer camp invites curious students to learn more about the fascinating world of biology, computer, science, and math. There they will teach students how to use computational biology to research the role of the gene in diseases and symptoms using patient RNA expression databases. Even if this might be scary for some, this science summer camp gives you the option to choose which camp you want to attend depending on your preference and your experience. But the most important requirement for this science summer camp is your curiosity and open mind, with an option to attend in person or virtual. There is a virtual camp that will focus on Biotechnology Sequencing (BTS) where students will use the Linux operating system to analyze the sequencing data collected from patients with Covid-19. You also have more options such as Rcamp where students will analyze the sequencing data of cancer patients. There is also the 2022 CB Camp – miRcore and  2022 In-Person Camp – miRcore. For the application process, you can apply on this form and you will be expected to write a paragraph or 2 on why you chose this camp and what you expect to learn from it. There is a registration fee of $35, with a fee of $585 for the virtual science summer camp and $645 for in person. This science summer camp has a membership system that means every camper has the Basic MVP membership. But you can always upgrade to the premium membership and find their plan here. Be sure to also review their refund policies if needed, and check out the scholarships offered as well! For more information you should contact info@mircore.org. Don’t let anything stop you because you could always discover something revolutionary as a high school student, or just have a great time learning new things at this science summer camp!
