Highlight: Music makes the world go ‘round! It’s very beautiful how a stranger’s feelings can be felt by a wide demographic of people and still be understood. Music is something many people are passionate about. Some people want to expand their knowledge in the craft, whether it’s through instruments or their voice. Are you one of those people? If so, maybe you’d be interested in the IIMIF Program (Intermuse International Music Institute & Festival Program). Each year, up to 25 students enroll in the on-campus portion of this music program at Mount Saint Mary’s University in order to cultivate technical and artistic growth. The on on-campus portion of this music program offers a challenging curriculum within a supportive atmosphere. It takes place during mid to late June, so those participating in person will live on campus in the university’s dorms. Children under 12 are eligible but will just have to bring a parent/guardian along with them. During this music program, they will offer music lessons and master classes, encourage you to perform in optional solo recitals, take you through Yoga for Musicians classes, and a lot more! For those who can’t attend in-person, that’s okay! IIMIF offers an online experience too, with nearly the same curriculum! The main difference between the online and in-person versions besides the platform,, of course — is that unlike the in-person experience, the online experience has no age restrictions and has no live performance component. The in-person music program is geared toward high school and college violinists, violists, cellists, and pianists who have at least some chamber music experience. This music program charges a fee of approximately $2,000 for the in-person experience and approximately $700 for the online program. So, how does this program sound? Sweet music to your ears? If so, go apply and take this opportunity to play!
Cost: In- person: $2,200
