Program Length: 36 hours, in September
Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario
Admissions Req: No experience necessary! Open to high school or university students eager to learn and excited to meet lots of awesome people. First time hack-a-thoners welcome!
Highlight: Canada’s biggest hack-a-thon. 1,000 students of different skill levels come together from around the world to team up and create unique software or hardware products from scratch. The idea is to put teams (of up to 4 people) together — teams can be created before or during the event — and give them resources, materials, and support they need to make something great in only 36 hours! Check out the great guest speakers and judges and the over $50,000 in prize $ awarded to teams at the event most recently! No restrictions for team members other than no previously started projects! This is a MLH (Major League Hackers) event and as such abides by their code of conduct.
Financial: FREE TO ATTEND No fees anytime Virtual in 2020; but when live and in-person, food and accommodation are provided; bus service from schools within driving distance of Waterloo and nearby airports also provided. For students needing to fly to attend, even a portion of airfare may be subsidized.
