Admissions Requirements:

US citizens

High school student entering senior year or final term after the summer

Strong scientific interest and academic background

Ability to attend a Zoom interview with the selection committee

Available for the entire eight-week program in Seattle – June 24 through August 16, 2024.

Are you a high school senior passionate about science? The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center’s Summer High School Internship Program (SHIP) is looking for YOU! Gain hands-on experience during this summer research program in state-of-the-art labs and work alongside leading researchers on groundbreaking projects whilst developing your research skills and exploring career paths in biomedicine. This summer research program kicks off with intensive training in the first 2 weeks to get you comfortable and confident in a real research lab. You’ll learn essential safety protocols and practical skills under the guidance of experts. For the rest of the summer research program, from week 3 to week 8, you’ll be paired with a research team, working alongside scientists on exciting projects while you attend seminars and workshops, and the internship ends with a reflection presentation by the interns.
