Highlight: Are you a young poet trying to get your work published and looking for some guidance? Lucky for you the Poetry Society has a Foyle Young Poets of the Year competition! This poetry competition is available for anyone between the ages of 11 to 17 anywhere around the world. This poetry competition is also completely free to apply to, and poems can be of any length and on any theme. You can send multiple submissions and they even accept submission in braille or BSL. Here are more rules on how to enter. The coolest part is that this poetry competition accepts 100 (85 commendations and 15 overall winners) winners, with the winners having their poems published in the annual Foyle Young Poets Anthology. Commended winners of this poetry competition will have their work published in an online anthology that is seen by tens of thousands of people worldwide. Additionally, the top 15 winners will be able to attend a week-long intensive residential Arvon course where they develop their creative writing skills alongside fellow poets or benefit from alternative distance mentoring, depending on age and location. So, if you’re a young poet and in need of some publicity and guidance, I would get “write” on this!
Cost: Free to enter!
