Highlight:
Interested in working with scientists to answer real-world questions? If so, Citizen Science has several marine biology programs that allow individuals to gain experience by collecting data, interpreting/analyzing data, making new discoveries, and solving complex problems. Citizen Science programs focus on marine biology discoveries and problems by doing beach clean-ups, beach watches, and participating in research projects. Citizen Science has programs ranging from Beach Watch in Manchester Beach to Marine Debris cleaning in the Florida Keys. Citizen Science allows anyone from students all the way to educators to be involved in these different marine biology programs if they are interested and passionate about helping scientists research marine biology problems. Individuals will be able to gain new information, network with other professionals, and make life-long connections that will allow them to expand their marine biology knowledge. If interested, please contact Claire.Fackler@noaa.gov for more information on Citizen Science volunteer programs.
