Application Deadline: End of January

Highlight: Over the past couple of years, the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office has offered 2 different kinds of paid summer internships for college students focusing on careers related to marine biology, oceanography, and environmental education. One program is the Chesapeake-Student Recruitment, Early Advisement, and Mentoring (C-StREAM),  which supports underrepresented students, including people of color and first-generation college students. Interns gain hands-on experience in fieldwork, policy, and education, with opportunities to work on fisheries surveys, environmental literacy programs, and community engagement, open to all students across the nation. Another program is the set of Chesapeake Bay Internships themselves, which include the Fish Ecology, Field Technician, Environmental Literacy Workgroup, and Partnership & Engagement internships, all of which aim to serve students/graduates with hands-on experience with the whole of their fields. The entirety of the initiative emphasizes diversity, aiming to garner applicants from differing communities! Additionally, all interns are to receive hourly wages for their hard work and dedication to the program, leaving even more of a reason to apply! If you’d like to learn more about the program and gain experience in the correlating fields, be sure to register before the deadline!

Cost: None
