Highlight: Are you a US or Canadian high school student who is enthusiastic about gaming? If so, the “Change the Game Design Challenge” is a must-snag opportunity for you! It’s a gaming design challenge where high school students are tasked to come up with a new game idea including the description, inspiration, background, and storyline plots. There is also the need for artistic creativity, as it asks for original sketches, wireframes, or additional documentation by the applicants. Applicants must also provide a written statement for one of the two indicated prompts that will be given to them. There will be 100 entrants selected to have the chance to take part in a whole week-long online workshop sponsored by Change The Game and Girls Make Games. Lastly, the prize is pretty useful as it includes a mystery prize box that contains a Chromebook inside as well! The only requirements it asks from the applicants are that they must be between the ages of 13 and 18 upon the entry submission form completion, be a legal US or Canadian citizen, and have parental guardian approval. This is a really unique workshop opportunity to spark creativity and interests for many individuals! What makes it even better is that it’s super convenient – the workshops are all online. If you are unsure about where to start or would like to have some inspiration, more information can be found here, and there is also a section of past winners and their proposals you can browse through on their website! Sooo…..if you consider yourself a game-changer, this contest is literally calling your name – definitely respond and sign up!
