Highlight: If you are a university student in physics, engineering, computer science, or mathematics looking for a fully funded research opportunity, then the CERN Summer Student Programme or the CERN Openlab Summer Student Programme is for you. This prestigious student opportunity takes place in Geneva, Switzerland, at the world’s leading laboratory for particle physics. Each summer, selected students from around the globe spend 8 to 13 weeks working on real projects that contribute directly to CERN’s cutting-edge experiments (Summer Student Program) and working with technologies that contribute to high-end physics (Openlab). Beyond hands-on research, the both programs include exclusive lectures by world-class scientists, guided tours of CERN’s facilities, and the rare chance to gain experience inside some of the most advanced STEM laboratories in the world. Applications open in November and close at the end of January, and accepted applicants get their invitations in May. Successful candidates can begin their placements in June. Participants receive a stipend, travel allowance, and support with accommodation, ensuring they can fully focus on learning and discovery. Far more than just an internship, this programme is a gateway into international research, collaboration, and scientific advancement. If you want to immerse yourself in one of the most exciting environments in science and technology, the CERN Summer Student Programme and CERN Openlab Summer Student Programme are the best chances for you.
