Highlight:

The Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program (ASDRP) is a nonprofit research institute in Fremont, California, offering a hands-on summer STEM research experience for high school students in grades 9 through 12. Students from the Bay Area, across the United States, and internationally can join either in person or remotely to participate in summer STEM research across subjects such as biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, and psychology. Each participant is paired with a mentor from academia or industry to complete an original summer STEM research project. With access to over four million dollars in lab equipment, students engage in real-world science while developing technical skills and independence. Many go on to publish their work or present at conferences, highlighting the impact of their summer STEM research. The program includes departments such as Biological and Life Sciences, Chemistry and Physics, and Computer Science and Engineering. ASDRP supports students throughout the research process and fosters a collaborative environment. Whether you are coding, working in the lab, or analyzing data, this summer STEM research opportunity prepares you for college-level work and beyond. Through summer STEM research, students gain confidence, experience, and a deeper understanding of the scientific process. If you’re ready to get started, apply here.
