Highlight: To protect and to serve. Police officers across the world put their lives on the line to help our community and keep us safe, yet they are under appreciated. The Youth Voices Creative Scholarship helps connect students to cops and shed a light on the benevolent work our police officers do every day. Students of 14-18 years of age, at the time of submitting their entries, are eligible for this creative scholarship. There are three categories to this creative scholarship; essay writing, video making and artwork creation. Applicants may opt for any one of these categories and submit their respective entries in respect to this year’s topic of the creative scholarship; What is the role of policing in fostering democracy “by the people, for the people”? Maybe you could highlight the significance of police in democracy! Or you could mention what you think our police officers need to understand in order to better serve our community. Or you can take a completely different take on the topic! The creative control is yours! The three best entries from each category for this creative scholarship, will be awarded prizes ranging from $250-$1000. Entries to this contest can be submitted via this link or can be sent through their PO Box, the details of which are listed here. The application deadline for this creative scholarship is mid November. For further queries you can shoot them an email at info@strategiesforyouth.org. So what are you waiting for?
