Highlight:  Innovation knows no bounds, the Weston Youth STEM contest allows young Canadian inventors to make their ideas reality without having to worry about financial limits. To be eligible for this STEM contest, applicants must be 14 to 18 years of age and be Canadian residents. Participants of this STEM contest must have used science and/or technology as the basis for developing creative and innovative ideas aimed at solving real-world problems. Participants of this STEM contest should aim to positively impact their community through putting their ideas into action. To apply for this STEM contest, students must first write an email with a 200 word summary of the project they’ve been working on. Received emails will be acknowledged and further details on the application process will be given. Renowned individuals are invited as judges to this STEM contest to review submissions. Winners of this STEM contest receive large cash prizes; $15,000 and $8,500 for the first and second place winners respectively and $3,500 to 3 other finalists. In addition to a cash prize, the winner of this STEM contest will also have the choice to work with OSC (Ontario Science Centre) multimedia department on an animation based on their idea, which will be displayed at the centre for a year.
