Highlight: Acoustics and 3D printing combine in the Student Challenge Problem on Acoustics and Additive Manufacturing. If you are an undergraduate or graduate student interested in the science of sound and happen to have a knack for 3D printing, consider applying to this acoustic competition. The acoustic competition encourages participants to research and create an idea that utilizes additive manufacturing (3D printing) to advance the field of acoustics or vice-versa. Entries to this acoustic competition must be no longer than 5 minutes in length, detailing the motivation, concept and results. Entries for this acoustic competition are due late May. Once you hit that submit button, you will be in the running to win prize money of $800 (first), $400 (second) or $200 (third). The first prize winner of the acoustic competition will also receive a $600 travel stipend to attend the fall ASA meeting to present their work as an invited speaker in a special session on Additive Manufacturing and Acoustics.
