Then The Ron Brown University Scholarship is perfect for you! This university scholarship awards around 45-50 students $40,000 scholarships spread out over 4 years of college or university.Beyond the actual 50 scholarship winners, an additional top 2-3% of all applicants are invited to attend the Ron Brown Leaders Network where they will engage with both scholars and professionals for recruiting purposes- –adding around 150 students to the pool of winners! Since 1996, over 450 young, gifted, and talented students have been awarded The Ron Brown University Scholarship. In order to apply for this university scholarship, applicants must be African-American high school seniors who are US citizens/permanent residents that come from economically-challenged backgrounds. It is also suggested that applicants should be public-service minded and looking into leadership roles in their communities. In addition to the scholarship money, scholars are given the opportunity to receive mentorship, service, and networking opportunities with professionals in various fields. Scholars can also use this scholarship for any major/field so long as they’re attending a 4 year university or college in the US- check out the page of past scholars to learn about what they’re studying!
