Highlight: Do you think that technology could be used in a good way? Are you willing to take action? Digital Responsibility is awarding four scholarships of $1000 to high school, college, and graduate students. The only thing you have to do is fill the application form found in the links of the technology scholarships and write a 140-characters statement. It’s really easy! You can choose between the four different topics from these technology scholarships. Keep in mind that each of the technology scholarships has different deadlines. The E-Waste scholarship is about understanding the impact of e-waste and how we can reduce it. The deadline is on April 30, on Earth Day! The Digital Privacy scholarship is about why you should be cautious about what you post on the internet. The deadline is on June 30. The Don’t Text and Drive scholarship is about the risk of using your phone while driving. The deadline is on September 30, the same day as September “No Texting while Driving” Day! The last one is the Technology Addiction Awareness scholarship, which is related to the negative effect of too much screen time. The deadline is on January 30. They will select 10 finalists with the best short messages in each topic area of the technology scholarships. Be creative and think of ways you can use other things besides technology, or just consider ways to use technology more wisely. If you are one of the 10 finalists, you’ll have to write a 500-to-1000-word essay about the topic you were selected for. Above all at just 140 characters for each submission, it’s easy to remember that small actions can make a big difference!
