Application Deadline: Applications for both LGBTQ+ scholarships will be available in the Spring.
Highlight: From workplace representation to marriage equality, the LGBTQ+ community has made strides towards equity and liberty. To celebrate the accomplishments of the community and to provide scholarships for sexual minorities, the Stonewall Community Foundation sponsors two distinct scholarship programs. Both of these LGBTQ+ scholarships are for students in high school or college and support higher education. The first of two LGBTQ+ scholarship offers an opportunity for lesbian women in college to cash in on a $1,500 or $3,000 award, while the second LGBTQ+ scholarship is distinctly for undocumented members of the New York City community and awards $18,000 for up to 2 years of school. The requirements for the LGBTQ+ scholarships are simple; in fact, self-identifying as a member and filling out the application are the only requirements for the LGBTQ+ scholarships. If you fit either of the descriptions mentioned, and are actively involved in initiatives that support the LGBTQ community, then don’t hesitate to apply for the LGBTQ+ scholarships… to help finance your future, and brighten the future of your community, because pride is all year long.
