Participating in ISEF allows students to showcase their original research projects on a global stage, competing against some of the brightest young minds from around the world. To be eligible, students typically must win top prizes at affiliated regional, state, or national science fairs which can be found here. Admission requirements vary by fair but generally include submitting an individual or team research project. The experience not only helps develop valuable skills in research, problem-solving, and communication but also offers the chance to win prestigious awards and scholarships. The total prize pool exceeds $5 million, with a grand prize of $75,000 and other prizes that include cash awards, college scholarships, internships, and scientific field trips.
