Mid-June: Date for Announcement of winners
Mid -September: Winners will read their works at the Meet the Authors evening, and will receive their awards.

Teenagers who are currently 14-19 years old, and attending public, separate, private, home school, university or college in Ontario are eligible for this humorous short story competition. You also need to pay a fee of $5.00 per entry to submit your story to the humorous short story competition. But it is totally worth it, because the top three winners of the humorous short story competition will receive $300-$1000 in cash prizes. In addition, you will also get your hands on two tickets for the ‘Meet the Authors’ night in Orillia held in mid-September, and have the opportunity to read your short stories to the audience. To enter the humorous short story competition and have a chance to bag these prizes, all you need to do is craft a humorous short story of 1500 words. The submission for the humorous short story competition must include a cover page with the title of the submission, the name of the student, the name of the school attended (if applicable), its telephone number and email address.
