Eligibility:

  • High school students in 10th, 11th or 12th grade who are legal residents of Canada and have French as their first or second language.

Bonjour! For Canadians who can speak French, this essay scholarship opportunity is a prime chance at both showcasing your skills in French, as well as a way to earn a scholarship to a partnering post-secondary institution of French for the Future. Additionally, French teachers in Canada who are interested in this essay scholarship can become part of the panel of judges. This essay scholarship has two categories: French Second Language (FSL) and French First Language (FFL), and the essay you submit must never have been previously published, exhibited publicly or selected as a winner in any other contest. If your essay gets nominated in any of the two categories, you can get the aforementioned scholarships ranging between $1,000 CAD and $28,000 CAD! Submissions are open from October to December, with essays evaluated using an Evaluation Grid, and winners announced in March.
