Eligibility: Although it says it’s a “Girls Writing” contest, this contest WELCOMES BOYS AND GIRLS in grades 3 – 12 , from anywhere in the world!
Application Deadline: Must be submitted by February 1st. Winners of the engineering writing contest will be released on May 1st
Highlight: Are you seeking to pursue engineering in your future? Do you want to be rewarded for your passions? Do you enjoy writing? If you answered yes to all of those questions, the Engineer Girl Writing Contest is the perfect opportunity for you! Available to all students across the world of any gender, this engineering writing contest seeks to afford some passionate future engineers a head start in the industry. Within engineering, presenting ideas and plans are important – and this writing contest will allow students to enhance their writing and research abilities around something they presumably have some significant interest in. There are Elementary, Middle, and High School categories. From each category, three winners will be selected for prizes: $500 first place, $ 250 second place, and $100 in third place. Honourable mentions will not be left out in the cold in this engineering writing contest; their works will be published on the Engineer Girl website alongside the winners’! Each group of students will be given separate requirements and grading systems depending on their education levels and abilities. (Elementary students will have to write a letter to their local editor, middle school students to write a blog entry, and high school students to write a essay.) All students will end up with a great research and writing piece around something they have interest and now increased knowledge in! So, what are you waiting for?
