Under the guidance of a mentor, you will engage in research activities across various hypersonic technology fields. You will be matched to specific projects based on your academic experience and professional interests, providing a personalized and impactful research experience.

This ten-week research appointment offers numerous benefits, including a stipend determined by AFIT based on your academic standing, discipline, and experience. Additional benefits may include a health insurance supplement, relocation allowance, and training and travel allowances. There is also the possibility of renewing the appointment for additional research periods, depending on funding availability and project needs.

To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field. Highly competitive applicants will have a solid academic background and a strong interest in furthering their STEM education at the graduate level.
