Highlight: Are you a passionate biologist that wants to specialize in something related to the environment? Are you already enrolled in a degree program but would like the opportunity to gain insight into a more specialist area of environmental biology? Well, then the Boyce Thompson Undergraduate Research Internship would be perfect for you to gain the opportunity to take up specific plant research at Cornell University. You will attend weekly seminars with scientists from BTI, Cornell, and the USDA as well as attend lab meetings and discuss recent literature related to your research project over the course of two months between May and August. The selection committee will do their best to match you with a project that is of interest and is aligned with your background and experience to make sure you get the most out of your internship with Cornell. After writing your research proposal and presenting it to your project peers you will then present your research to the other students, scientists, and mentors at the annual George and Helen Kohut Symposium. Through this enlightening internship, you could be introduced to the professional world of research outside your undergraduate degree that could help you decide what is the right path for you after you graduate! Jay Kordich once said “all life on Earth emanates from the green of plants” so why not further your understanding of our planet and apply for this plant biology internship before the February deadline!

Cost: Stipend of $6,000 PLUS meal allowance ($850) AND travel assistance (up to $500)! Fully funded group housing on the Cornell campus will be provided to participants.
