Highlight: The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America has an amazing scholarship for college-bound high school seniors who have been impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia-related illness.  Whether it be from an experience within their family or their community, the Alzheimer Foundation of America encourages students to give form to what they have learned. This Alzheimer’s awareness essay contest gives students an opportunity to reflect on their experiences and get to know themselves better through writing about situations and consider maybe more specifically how facing these challenges have shaped their perspectives on life. It’s fairly simple: Applicants only need to write an essay that has a maximum of 1,500 words and submit their official high school transcript, for a chance to win a prize — and there are A LOT OF PRIZES!! See prize listing above: but cash prizes are awarded to multiple recipients across 10 prize levels, and more than $350,000 in scholarship funds has been awarded since the Alzheimer awareness essay’s program’s inception.  Just a little more motivation to share your observations and perspectives.
