Eligibility: This writing scholarship is open to all women pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D degree in journalism, creative writing, or literature in Canada or the US *no age restrictions

Highlight: Maya Angelou famously wrote, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” In a similar fashion, numerous women have left their mark in literature by partaking in creative writing, or creating pathways for other women to see their work published alongside men. Now, it is time for the current generation to pave a road of gleaming headlights and shining stars for the next generation of women via a writing scholarship. By participating in a writing scholarship such as the Irene Adler Prize, you can be the next big female author or journalist. This writing scholarship allows women to write a 500 word essay following a given prompt for a chance to win the grand prize of $1,000. The three topics for prompts to choose from are always  pretty interesting and generally related to each other and to your experiences or reasons fro writing. Although there is only one winner in this writing scholarship competition, there will be multiple honourable mentions who will also have their works posted on the Irene Adler webpage for greater exposure in the world of literature. Start your journey at the writing scholarship and enter in two easy steps. First off, complete an entry form listed on the website; make sure to answer all parts of the writing scholarship questionnaire and submit the form. And finally, write your 500 words for the writing scholarship contest by May 30th to avoid missing out on the deadline. Don’t second guess yourself or your abilities.
