Type: Essay contest (one of Unigo’s monthly themed scholarships)

Eligibility: Applicants must be 14 years or older, must be a legal U.S. resident, or a resident of one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia (U.S. students only) who are enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution. We’re just confirming with the Unigo folks exactly where post-secondary institutions can be located and will post an update as soon as we hear back (meaning you won’t see the previous sentence anymore).

Application Deadline: Submissions for this annual essay contest are welcome before the deadline in late August.

This essay contest double dog dares any US citizen of at least fourteen years of age or older to apply. To enter this essay contest, describe any incident in your life, whether it be funny, embarrassing, true, or even false in 250 words or less. Judges are looking for essays that are well-written and chuckle worthy. Ever see a bear eating cupcakes in your car? Write about it! If you ever have trouble, just view the past winners’ essays. The punchline: you have the opportunity to win $1500 towards your college education! And that’s no joke!
