Program Length: A six week summer STEM program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Admissions Req: Summer STEM program open to ALL juniors (grade 11 students) that are US citizens and permanent residents, though preference is given to students falling within particular education and socioeconomic demographics. Highlight: If you are a highschool junior in the U.S. and are interested in exploring a career in engineering or science, look no further! MITES is a completely FREE, six-week summer STEM program offered by MIT…. enough said?!!! Note quite. Whether you attend a public school, a private school, or are homeschooled, all students registered as juniors who are passionate about science and engineering are encouraged to apply! You also get the opportunity (actually are required!) to live on the MIT campus (also FREE OF CHARGE) over the course of this summer STEM program. Students take one math course, one life sciences course, one physics course a humanities course and an elective course. Courses are definitely rigorous and competitive but they also provide a great foundation for admissions and preparation for highly competitive STEM programs at top ranked universities! You also have the chance to participate in social events organized by MITES to build long-lasting friendships (as well as a potentially pretty impressive future professional network!!) with other students participating in the summer STEM program.
Financial: This summer STEM program is COMPLETELY FREE (meaning all tuition costs, room and board are covered). You just need to get there!
