Good time management skills are a must, as you will set a deadline for yourself and would need to commit to it

So essentially on Substack, a writer would take one of our resources and turn it into a compelling, story-driven post that helps students understand why it matters and how to get involved. Its fully flexible and online, you can choose to work entirely independently or collaborate within a team at a pace that best fits your schedule. For example, you can collaborate occasionally or extensively with any of the following teams: the Resources team that researches new resources for students, the Business team that handles events/ partnerships/ initiatives around the sustainability focus of our Substack, or the Substack management team where you could become an editor or just be involved in overall operations of the project.

You start by filling out an interest form. There is a short writing sample that we encourage you to have fun with, along with some basic name, location, and contact details…no grades or references or resume necessary! Whether you work independently or with others you’ll be able to bring opportunities to life while also building your own writing skills. And, hey… future you writing college essays will be very thankful you did this…as your writing might just be a little sharper land a little softer after this.
