Highlight:
Looking for a way to combine your passion for the environment with hands-on leadership experience? The Student Conservation Association (SCA) connects high school and college students with meaningful conservation opportunities across the U.S. Through short-term crews, long-term internships, and AmeriCorps corps programs, SCA members take part in real service projects that restore habitats, build and maintain trails, protect wildlife, and support environmental education. Depending on the conservation internship program, you could spend your summer camping in a national park, working in an urban green space, or serving on projects that directly impact local communities. Participants receive training in conservation skills, teamwork, and leadership, while also developing professional networks with mentors from federal agencies, nonprofits, and environmental organizations. Many programs in this conservation internship provide stipends, housing, or travel support, academic credits and several offer AmeriCorps education awards that can be applied toward college costs. You can also find the job position suitable for you, as more then 100 job positions are offered. More than just volunteer work, the SCA experience builds a strong foundation for careers in sustainability, environmental science, natural resource management, and beyond. If you want to make a tangible difference while gaining skills and connections for your future, this conservation internship is one of the most impactful ways to start.
