Highlight:

Looking for a federal student internship that puts you right at the heart of US Department of Energy projects? The DOE Student Experience Program offers the chance to gain hands-on experience in fields like nuclear engineering, environmental stewardship, and advanced energy systems. Over 8 to 16 weeks, students in this federal student internship work on real DOE initiatives that contribute to national goals in energy, science, and security, all while being mentored by industry experts. This program stands out for its highly specialized projects, including secure and technical work environments that are rarely accessible to students. Whether your focus is STEM, public policy, or applied science, this federal student internship helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical impact. You will also build your professional network, strengthen your technical skills, and see firsthand how policy, science, and innovation intersect in public service. To participate in the federal student internship, you must be sponsored by your accredited educational institution, which provides your stipend as the DOE itself does not pay interns, and complete the required Student Agreement Form. For students aiming to launch a career in science, energy, or public service, this federal student internship offers both the challenge and the opportunity to make a real difference.
