As a Simons Fellow, you’ll be teamed up with renowned Stony Brook faculty mentors and become an integral part of a research group. Conclude your journey by crafting a research abstract and poster that showcase your discoveries. But that’s not all – this Summer Research Program isn’t just about lab work. You’ll learn valuable techniques, get a taste of life at a major research university, and immerse yourself in an array of weekly faculty research talks, special workshops, tours, and engaging events, all of it completely free! The grand finale is the poster symposium where you’ll be recognized with a well-deserved stipend award.

The Simons Summer Research Program is looking for high school students who demonstrate independence, creativity, and a passion for hands-on work. If you’re in your junior year (11th grade) of high school, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and at least 16 years old, you’re eligible to apply. If you’re historically underrepresented in STEM or come from an economically disadvantaged background, Simons encourages you to apply.
